As the city’s Equity Office says, “Austin has a long history of systemic racism and racial inequity that continues today.” That’s why we apply an equity lens to everyday reporting, writing stories that investigate the intersection of equity and the outdoors, climate change, and even the food that we eat.
We all know that we should be showing our love to the special people in our lives on a regular, ongoing basis. It can also be fun to have an excuse to do something extra special.
The winners of various awards programs and contests can teach us all something about leading hte way to a greener future. Check out what we’ve compiled so far and add other we missed.
Thursday April 22nd marks the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day and Live Oak Pharmacy is proud to offer 4 ways to join us in giving back to our community.
Medication “Take-Back” Program
Tossing medications and supplements in the trash or down the drain pollutes our waterways and contaminates landfills. We’re thrilled to partner with the National Community Pharmacists Association to announce Austin’s first continuous Medication “Take-Back” program! When you stop into Live Oak Pharmacy, bring in your expired or unused prescriptions (we are unable to accept controlled substances), over-the-counter medications or supplements to our pharmacy, we’ll provide you with a Medication “Take-Back” form or click here to download one and we’ll make sure they’re disposed of in an eco-friendly way that’s good for the environment. And that’s great for us all.
