Remember that mobility bond that was on the ballot (and voters approved) in 2016? Ever wonder where that $720 million is being spent?

Here’s an update. Earlier this month, the City of Austin released a draft of the Local Mobility Annual Plan for 2018, which lays out all of the sidewalk, bike lane, urban trail, substandard street, Vision Zero, and Safe Routes To School projects that will be paid for by the bond and worked on in the new year (and beyond).

Wait, I need a quick reminder. What’s the mobility bond again?
The 2016 mobility bond was a $720 million bond approved by voters last November. In total, the bond set aside $482 million for “smart corridor”improvements along major roads like North and South Lamar, East Riverside, Guadalupe, Burnet, Airport, and others. Also included in the bond are $101 million for regional mobility improvements (to intersections on Loop 360, Anderson Mill Road, Spicewood Springs Road) and $137 million for local mobility projects, like bike lanes and sidewalks. It is this component that is being laid out in the Local Mobility Annual Plan.

Here’s where you come in. The city is asking for your input on the 2018 Local Mobility Annual Plan before they finalize it in February. You have until January 14th to read the report, look through the interactive project map, and make a comment.
