June Means Barbecuing and Peaches & Cream at Barton Creek Farmers Market

Early summer time brings to market Central Texas favorites, BLACKBERRIES, PEACHES and BARBECUE!  Barton Creek Farmers Markets brings food, arts and people together for summer fun!

Barton Creek Farmers Market celebrates June by providing market visitors with a delicious barbecue prepared on the spot and served with beans, corn on the cob and fresh peaches, blackberries and cream for dessert.

Barbecue:

Texas barbecue is a summer favorite and Jim Richardson at Richardson Farms has grass fed, pasture raised beef brisket and sausage that makes exceptionally tender and juicy barbecue spiced and cooked to perfection by his brother Tim Richardson, Chef at Rust Never Sleeps Barbeque.  Tim and his crew will offer tastes to all market visitors including a plate of barbecue, beans, Star Farmers Market onions, Hill Country Homestyle Canning dill pickles and roasted corn on the cob from Two Happy Children Farm!  A great day is in store for tasting and enjoying a wide variety of delicious local, organic foods.

Peaches, Blackberries & Cream:

It’s the perfect time of year to celebrate Texas local fruit with peaches, blackberries combined with Full Quiver's cream.  Caskey Orchards, Caeda Farms, Star Farmers Market and Hill Country Homestyle Canning will supply delicious local peaches and blackberries for market visitors.  Full Quiver Farms will bring their non-homogenized, low temp pasteurized cream for the “Peaches, Blackberries & Cream” tasting prepared by Leena Dillingham, Chef at Leena’s Table.

Backyard Gardens:

For those thinking of growing a backyard garden, professional gardeners at The Natural Gardeners booth, Microbial Earth, and Ramsey's Garden will be sharing insights and tips on backyard gardens.  Rainwater harvesting guest Chris Maxwell-Gaines, Innovative Water Solutions will be available to answer questions and discuss rainwater collection and irrigation.

Kids:

Tiny Tails To You Petting Zoo is bringing hedgehogs, chicks, ducklings, bunnies, turtles, a bearded dragon and other small animals for this Blackberry, Peaches & Cream Celebration at Barton Creek Farmers Market on Saturday.
