Texas Parks & Wildlife Department is seeking an unpaid intern starting Summer 2012 or Fall 2012. This is a part-time, unpaid position (20 hrs/week). The intern will be working for the Infrastructure Division on projects involving sustainability and energy efficiency, specifically assisting to develop a database of information to evaluate and compare TPWD-owned buildings.
Intern will assist with:
· Evaluation of utility bills
· Developing an Audit Evaluation Plan
· Walk-through energy audits
· Energy audit data entry
· Utility & efficiency evaluation data entry
· Identification of TPWD upgrade opportunities
· Energy Efficiency calculations & Return on Investment calculations
· Monitoring of Solar Photovoltaic System Production
· Various Green Team activities
Intern Requirements:
· Must meet TPWD Intern Program Requirements
· Active interest in sustainability, green building, energy management, or renewable energies
· Ability to work independently and solve problems
· Ability to gather, sort, and analyze data
· Perform work in a professional environment
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Familiarity with Microsoft computer software systems
Desired Skills:
Background or prior coursework in utility management, energy efficiency, renewable energies, sustainability, or green business management.
Working toward an associate’s, undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited institution in public administration, utility management, energy efficiency, renewable energies, sustainability, green business management, or related course of study

Must meet TPWD Intern Application Requirements and the following:

2) Must be available to work according to position’s needs, for a minimum of 4 weeks at a time. Depending on business needs, selected intern[s] may be able to work four week blocks non-consecutively.
3) Work schedule to be arranged between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
