Regional Outreach Coordinator (TX)
National Wildlife Federation is seeking a Regional Outreach Coordinator to achieve conservation victories by identifying, informing, and mobilizing key constituencies, including hunters and anglers, wildlife enthusiasts, educators, health leaders, and child-serving institutions around selected nationally significant advocacy campaigns in Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing state specific campaigns in support of selected nationally significant campaigns.
- Indentifying, informing, and mobilizing hunters, anglers, conservationists, diverse constituency leaders, and outdoor enthusiast, around priority NWF issues, including state advocacy work.
- Managing outreach consultants
- Influencing local, state, regional and national opinion leaders to take action in support of nationally and regionally significant conservation campaigns
- Generating earned media
Experience:
- College degree required.
- Five years experience in lobbying and advocating for State and/or Federal Legislation,
- Grassroots organizing and generating earned media (i.e., op-eds, editorials, and stories in print and radio), supervising of organizers, volunteer activist development, volunteer development of lobbying decision-makers/Spanish speakers, and management, and developing and implementing advocacy campaigns.
- Exceptional interpersonal, writing, and public speaking skills
- Demonstrated ability to work strategically and as a team player and be able to develop trusting relationships with hunters and anglers, and other key constituencies.
