Happy Fourth of July from all of us here at the Austin EcoNetwork! This year’s fireworks will be held at Auditorium Shores (Vic Mathias Shores) on Tuesday, July 4th. The evening will kick off at 8:30pm with a performance from the Austin Symphony Orchestra. Fireworks will be begin at 9:30pm. And as always, the entire event is free and open to the public. So how do you get there?
Crowds are always crazy for the fireworks, so try taking alternative transportation to the event. Here are a few options:
- Ride the bus or rail. Capital Metro will be running special late night services for the holiday. MetroRail will run until midnight and MetroRapid will run until 12:30am.
If you’re not sure which bus to take to get to the fireworks, you can find out here>> - Use Austin B-cycle. There are several stations located near Auditorium Shores, so you can be sure to park close to the fun.
A full list of B-cycle stations is available here>> - Ride your own bike. There is always plenty of bike parking onsite. Plus it’s great exercise.
- Walk. Make an evening out of it and walk along the Hike & Bike Trail to get to the park. Just remember to bring a flashlight for the trip home!
