According to Bicycling, Austin places #13 among the best U.S cities for bicycling. However, says Bicycling:

Though tireless bike advocates have a near-perfect record for projects they’ve championed, involvement from the thriving cycling community remains sporadic.

We are taking that as a challenge to grow our ranks.

We are asking you to join and help to spread the word!

Ask your friends, family, and co-workers to join Bike Austin to help make Austin a world-class bicycling city. We will not meet our membership drive goal unless our members recruit others for a stronger Bike Austin. Members support our work that brings more funding for bicycling and walking to Austin, such as $5MM of bike/ped facilities along North MoPac, $3.3MM just for bike safety on Travis County roads, and a steady flow of new family friendly bikeways across Austin. If we meet our goal, we will hire a part-time membership coordinator! That means we will be able to establish more member benefits, such as Bike Austin member cards, member discounts to Austin businesses, more social and informative events, more ability to involve our members in the organization, and more work on behalf of Austin bicycling.
