After Thanksgiving is over, you’ve eaten all the delicious food, and spent time with family, it’s time to give back. Giving Tuesday (a global day of charitable giving) is on November 28th and there are plenty of ways for you to participate right here in Austin.
Giving Tuesday was born out of the idea that after events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, people should be encouraged to give back to their local communities. Fueled primarily by social media, Giving Tuesday encourages everyone to donate to their favorite nonprofit organization. Plus this year, I Live Here I Give Here (Austin’s own charitable giving amplifier) has joined in with Giving Tuesday to make the impact here in central Texas bigger than ever.
Here’s how you can participate:
Attend I Live Here I Give Here’s “Giving TuesdayPop Up Party” at their offices on East 6th Street. The party will feature local nonprofit organizations (including Austin Pets Alive! and Bike Austin), as well as activities that enable you to give back to them. There will also be art activities, a mobile blood bank, diaper donation drop-off, poinsettias, holiday cards for seniors, and volunteer signup opportunities. More info>>
