This month's presentation and Q&A:
Getting to Zero Waste
with Bob Gedert
Last Spring, Austin distinguished itself as one of the very few cities on earth committed to achieving zero waste. But who will lead us there? How will we do it? What’s the plan and how will “getting to zero” affect your life? Bob Gedert, director of The City of Austin’s Resource Recovery Department and vice president of The National Recycling Coalition, is literally Austin's leader for this impressive task. Join us for a special symposium as Mr. Gedert explains what "zero waste" will mean in practice, the City's plans for implementation, how this will affect curbside recycling, and how Austinites will make it happen. All are welcome!
As a special bonus, David Hogan, from the Austin Zero Waste Alliance will kick off the evening with a quick orientation on "Zero Waste" concepts, terminology, benefits.
Come learn from Austin’s zero waste leaders!
