26 Oct Faith Community Recruiting Climate Action Team
Austin's Interfaith Environmental Network invites you to attend an exciting symposium, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011. The event takes places at Highland Park Baptist Church, 5206 Balcones Drive. This month’s featured presenters, Bob Murray (former CEO, Seattle Power & Light) and Joep Meijer (CEO, The Right Environment, Ltd.) will address today's energy and climate change challenges as moral imperatives for people of faith, demonstrate a clear path to success, and recruit those who wish to participate in a year long effort to demonstrate solutions, locally.
“The Energy Challenge:
A Moral Imperative for Climate Change”
Bob Murray and Joep Meijer
If you knew you had the chance to work on the biggest environmental problem humankind has ever faced and that there are faith-driven ways to contribute to the solution – wouldn’t you want to do it?
Join us November 1st as international energy and environmental consultants Bob Murray and Joep Meijer lead a presentation on meeting the global climate challenge by making meaningful contributions on a local level. Read more about Murray & Meijer's climate challenge thoughts here.
After an open Q&A, Murray and Meijer will offer an opportunity for getting involved in a faith-driven action team that aims to implement solutions and lead by example.
Event is 7pm to 8:30pm. Attendance is free. Info link. Map. The Interfaith Environmental Network welcomes those in Central Texas’s faith communities who are interested in linking religious values and spirituality with environmental stewardship. Hope you can join us!
