Anne Braden (July 28, 1924 – March 6, 2006) was an American civil rights activist, journalist, and educator dedicated to the cause of racial equality. In celebration of her birthday, UWSA is hosting an online, two-hour workshop, “White Antiracist History; White Antiracist Mobilization: Lessons From the Life of Anne Braden.” on Tuesday July 26th, 6:30-8:30 pm Central.
The workshop will be facilitated by educator, author and activist Lynn Burnett, who is the founder of
CrossCulturalSolidarity.com and the
White Antiracist Ancestry Project. The workshop will reflect on how we can strengthen White antiracist efforts through grounding ourselves in key lessons from White antiracist history and take a deep dive into the lessons to be learned from Anne Braden. The workshop is donation-based with all proceeds going to supporting the White Antiracist Ancestry Project.
