Watershed Protection Ordinance Functional Assessment Presentation – New Floodplain Modification Requirements

Functional Assessment: Background & Methodology. Mateo Scoggins, Janna Renfro, and Erin Wood will present about the Functional Assessment (part of the new floodplain modification requirements) at a Capital Area Erosion Control Network (CAECN) forum this Friday, Jan. 10 from 11:34 am to 12:48 pm. UPCOMING WPO MEETINGS:

Barton Springs Zone (BSZ) Redevelopment Exception. Five provisions recommended by staff to amend the BSZ Redevelopment Exception were pulled from the WPO by Council to allow additional discussion. We met with you, our stakeholders, on Dec. 10 on this topic. We covered a lot of ground but all agreed that a second meeting would be helpful to finalize the discussion. Please mark your calendars for Friday, Jan. 17 from 11 am to 1 pm on this topic. The meeting will be at the usual location in the City Hall Staff Bullpen.

Phase 2 Kickoff: Green Stormwater Infrastructure. Back in May of 2013, we discussed various green stormwater infrastructure related topics. We agreed to postpone their final consideration to a “Phase 2” of the WPO. The time is near to take this up again. Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, Jan. 22 from 3 to 5 pm on this topic. We’ll meet in the City Hall Council Chambers.

Ordinance now on the web! Council approved the ordinance on Oct. 17 and it became effective on Oct. 28. Here is a link to a signed copy of the ordinance and a link to the newly updated code on the web. Go to “Title 25. Land Development” and see especially Chapters 25-7 and 25-8, with additional changes in 25-1 and 25-2.
