Who's Hosting This Event?

Austin Water Wildland Conservation Division
Who We Are:

Created in 2002 by the action of City Council, the Wildland Conservation Division is within Austin Water. Though not directly connected to the delivery of drinking water and treatment of wastewater, the wildlands absorb rainfall, helping to alleviate flooding and prolong the inflow of water to area creeks and lakes, ultimately contributing to the Colorado River, Austin’s source of drinking water.

Join us on Friday April 28 from noon-1pm for the next webinar in the Water Quality Protection Lands Speaker Series: Watersheds & Conservation with Robin Gary, Director of Watershed Protection and Conservation Science for the Watershed Association. Drought and groundwater demand are impacting many Hill Country springs, perhaps most notably Jacob’s Well. Robin will discuss drought effects, well trends, well owner tips and tricks, and the need for conservation.

This monthly webinar series is aimed at sharing content related to the Water Quality Protection Lands (WQPL) program, which protects the groundwater in the Barton Springs segment of the Edwards Aquifer through the conservation and restoration of large connected natural areas in Hays and Travis counties.
