Volunteer With The Project: First Independent Baptist Church

The Project, a UT tradition since 1999, is coming up on Saturday, March 2nd! Join up to 1000 other Longhorns for a fun-filled day of giving back to the community! Bring your friends, classmates, and student org members out to make some memories volunteering together! Both students and non-students are welcome to participate.
Morning Shift: 9am-2pm
Afternoon Shift: 12pm-5pm

*Shuttle Bus transportation provided if needed
One of our ten sites this year is First Independent Baptist Church.
Volunteer at First Independent Baptist Church, our largest site this year! Help us restore the grounds of this church that has been helping those in need in the Dove Springs community for decades!
As a volunteer at this site, your tasks will include:
- Building an accessibility ramp for the church’s donation center
- Creating a playground for local children
- Bathing and brushing 32 goats and a donkey
- Painting sheds
- Trimming trees
- Cleaning up debris
- Repairing a fence
- Clearing out storage container to make space for new donations
