In the past, the annual Viva la Vida Festival in Downtown Austin has generated a lot of trash, recycled, and compostable material. The event will take place on 4th Street and Congress where the parade is scheduled to conclude. The festival is expected to bring over 15,000 attendees. In an effort to divert the material out of the local landfill, Austin Resource Recovery is seeking volunteers to help attendees dispose material in the correct bin and manage the event collection stations. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 26th.
You can sign up for a volunteer shift here.
