In the past, the annual Juneteenth Parade in east Austin has generated plastic waste along the route. In an effort to divert material and encourage plastic recycling, Austin Resource Recovery is seeking volunteers to help collect recyclable material, while walking with our community recycling truck. The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 15th. You can sign up to volunteer here.
Meeting Location: Comal Street between MLK and Manor Road

What to bring: A FULL bottle of water and sunscreen are strongly recommended
Please Note: The route is estimated to be 2.5 miles long round trip, and occurs during the summer. Extreme high temperatures are expected. Comfortable shoes and clothes are recommended. Parking and day of details will be confirmed the week of the event.
