Please come and join us in spreading mulch around mature trees in public spaces in Austin and Travis County. We will be mulching these trees to help protect them against drought and heavy foot traffic. We will discuss the importance of urban forest stewardship and how correctly mulching a tree will help it survive harsh summer conditions.
Please bring a water bottle and come prepared to do physical labor: long pants, gloves, closed toe shoes and sun protection. Mulch is dusty, so you may want sunglasses as well. All ages are welcome. Water, juice, light refreshments, and tools will be provided. We will have a limited number of gloves available as well.
Supervisors are also needed; you must pre-register, arrive at 7:30am and be willing to supervise small groups of volunteers. Contact Rebecca@TreeFolks.org for more information or to sign up.
