Camp Mabry has asked TreeFolks to plant more trees on the base. We’ll be planting small saplings that will not require irrigation. These saplings will help to restore native tree and shrub diversity, reduce water runoff, and improve water quality in nearby creeks. We will learn a little about the history of Camp Mabry and the reforestation process.
Volunteers should wear long pants and closed toe shoes for safety. Bring a water bottle, hat and sunscreen and dress appropriately for the weather. Water, coffee, light refreshments, gloves and tools will be provided.
Planting Leaders are needed to lead volunteer planting crews at planting events. Leaders meet half an hour early to help organize tools and get special instructions, then provide direct supervision of planting volunteers. If you would like to sign up to be a leader, please email volunteer@treefolks.org
