Think Global, Act Local: Fostering Entrepreneurs With Purpose

Have you ever felt that you have too many passions and feel pressured to choose one to focus on? Or how about feeling overwhelmed because as you age up you still feel that you have not found one thing that you’re great at?

In April, you learned about the 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development and identified how they relate to Austin. In May, you heard about the intersectionalities between the Gobal Goals and identified what features an online tool could have to spark positive impact and collaboration in our community.

This June we’re getting up close and personal. As an innovator and change catalyst, you can’t truly be effective if you don’t understand what place you can play in this world and how you can add value. More importantly, we believe that an individual’s mix of talents and gifts combine into creating new solutions that our world has never seen. In other words, we will be much more effective in addressing the Global Goals if individuals find a way to balance their passion and what they are good at, while being socially, environmentally and financially sustainable.

“Find a way to keep all of your passions in the mix, invest wholeheartedly in them, let them interact with one another and something unique will come out of it” This is the advice that Steven Tomlinson received when he asked which of his passions he should focus on.
