Additional services include sweeping streets, collecting dead animals, operating a drop-off center for household hazardous waste and collecting bulk items and large brush.

From Austin Resource Recovery and Keep Austin Beautiful –

Last year, SXSW generated almost 350,000 pounds of trash and recyclable material. The 10-day festival officially began on March 11th and runs through March 20, 2016. In an effort to maintain and return the city back to its normal landscape, we are seeking volunteers to help with litter maintenance and poster/flyer removal. Austin Resource Recovery and the Operations team will be leading this cleanup project and working towards our zero waste goal. All cleanup materials, snacks and water will be provided. Please come prepared to work outside and get dirty. This site is open to volunteers age 12 and up. Contact Iby Setzer at iby.setzer@austintexas.gov if you are interested in volunteering.
