St. Edward’s University Earth Week 2013

November 25 @ 3:20 am

“Earth Week 2013: What’s Your Solution” will be held from April 16th–23rd, and is free and open to the public. Most of the events will take place on St. Edward’s University campus on 3001 S. Congress Ave. Austin, TX 78704. Other activities will be held at Wild Basin Creative Research Center.

The underlying theme of Earth Week 2013 will stress how sustainability benefits individuals — from overall advantages to careers in the field. A broad spectrum of topics will be addressed: businesses opportunities, professional development, water, energy, local farms, transportation, recycling, composting, and more.

The kick-off event will be a book signing and talk by George Bristol, author of On Politics and Parks. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16 in Jones Auditorium in the Ragsdale Center.

Many university areas will be involved in this Earth Week 2013, including Campus Ministry, the Kozmetsky Center, the Center for Ethics and Leadership, Facilities, Career Services, Bon Appetit, Students for Sustainability and Wild Basin. Earth Week 2013 activities include events on the Ragsdale lawn over several days, talks and presentations, film screenings and other interactive activities.

Off campus organizations are also participating in Earth Week 2013 events to showcase their services and products.
