SPICE IT UP: SEASONAL, HEALTHY INDIAN COOKING

Indian food is famous for its spice-filled flavors; but the variety of spices and techniques used in Indian cooking can be intimidating to the uninitiated. Join us for this unique class that fuses the best of traditional Indian cooking with a modern approach to healthful eating. As you learn the culinary secrets of cooking with Indian spices and seasonal ingredients, you will also discover how these foods benefit your health. This includes their cancer-fighting properties and protection against diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and inflammatory conditions.
Recipes in this class will focus on gluten-free, vegetarian and low glycemic ingredients; we will discuss healthy alternatives and substitutions for meat-based recipes.
This class features guest instructors, Integrative Medicine Specialist Dr. Shelly Sethi and Cooking Instructor Shefaly Ravula of Shef’s Kitchen.
Classes are for adults; teenagers may participate with a parent or guardian present.
