SOS Alliance Holiday Party

This is our premier event celebrating the heart and soul of Austin – Barton Springs. We will get together on Thursday, December 6th from 6pm until midnight. Last year over 700 people attended this not-to-be-missed party! It’s all about celebrating (and preserving) what makes Austin special. The party will feature local foods, legendary Austin musicians, hundreds of friends, and our signature silent auction. Hundreds of local businesses, artisans and professionals contribute to this auction. This year we will celebrate 20 years of action and advocacy to save Barton Springs. On August 8th, 1992, sixty-four percent of Austin voters said "yes" to save Barton Springs by approving the SOS citizen initiated ordinance. The ordinance remains in place today to protect the water quality of Barton Springs. We incorporated SOS in November 1992, following the SOS vote, because we knew Barton Springs needed a full-time advocate to prevent pollution and excessive pumping.
