The Austin Regional Group of the Sierra Club is a volunteer organization of over 5000 members. We’ve been an integral part of the Austin scene since 1968.

Our goal is to ensure that the Austin area remains a healthy, vibrant, place to live. We believe that the health of the human world is inextricably linked to the health of the natural world, and we offer a wide variety of activities and volunteer opportunities to support our goal.

Hosted by the Sierra Club –

Sierra Club Climate Change Committee will launch a major social media and outreach campaign at its Monday, August 5, meeting. We will feature three speakers on communicating about climate change and increasing engagement of people and tell people how they can help build the mass movement to generate the political will so our leaders will take substantial action on climate change. They will share scientific studies to help us become more effective.

Megan Bonnett, Nonprofit Consultant, Naturalist, Holistic Educator will speak on “Communicating Difficult Topics Like Climate Change”. Kimberly Horndeski, Water Resources Program Coordinator at Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will talk about “Effective Engagement”. Mina Shekarchi, Climate Change Committee Organizing Intern, Asst. Outreach Coordinator at SOS Alliance will tell us how to “Build an Effective Mass Movement for our Climate Crisis”
