Covid-19 Stage 5 in Austin, Dang.

Bruce Melton will present a short summary of the new report and answer questions. See his summary in the Austin Sierran August Edition here. MeltOn is our cochair, a professional engineer, environmental researcher, filmmaker, climate science education specialist, author, and director of the Climate Change Now Initiative founded in 2005. He has written over 500 reviews of academic climate science, lectures regularly, and has recently been involved in ground breaking climate policy development where he was awarded a special achievement award by Sierra Club for helping in the establishment of new climate policy and a safer limit to warming of “less than 1.0 degree C above normal,” that reverses already initiated ecological collapse and climate tipping and restores extreme weather mayhem back to its former rare levels. You can see his climate science reviews and films at https://www.ClimateDiscovery.org.

7:15-8:00 Climate Change Committee Meeting – Discuss Action Teams reactivation to continue the work to reverse climate change. Covid-19 Stage 5 has returned to Austin but climate change can’t wait. At this meeting we will be developing strategies to increase awareness during Stage 5, adhering to Sierra Club and Austin Public Health protocol, and how we are going to transition to normal, soon, fingers crossed. Action Teams: Carbon Removal, Net Zero, the Austin Climate Emergency Response, Austin Energy, Rio Grande Valley Support (LNG export facilities), Carbon Fee & Dividend, People Power, Data Entry, Presentations/Tabling, Transportation, Climate Justice, Partner Organizations, School Education, Social Media and more. Whether you have only minutes a month or hours a day, join us to build a mass movement to reverse climate change. And or please, join another group fighting this vital cause.
