Shoreline Stewardship: Soil Restoration at Festival Beach

Join in spreading mulch to restore, enhance, and protect the soil on the Hike and Bike Trail!
Soil health is the foundation of ecology. The soil restoration events will consist of mulch spreading, aeration of turf areas, amending areas with compost, and establishment of vegetation in bare spots within the areas below. These activities will reduce stormwater runoff and soil erosion, enhance slope protection, and aid in weed suppression before the Texas summer heat starts.
Event Details:
- Meeting Location: Edward Rendon Park. Please look out for an orange TTC tent or TTC Flag.
- Parking Information: Street parking along Chicon Street and Nash Hernandez Road
- What to bring and wear: Wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and sun protection (sunglasses and a hat). Bring a filled water bottle.
