Shades of Green Lunch-and-Learn

November 21 @ 1:52 pm

Shades of Green: Connecting with Austin’s Racially Diverse Environmental Community

Please join us for an informative lunch with presentations by some of Austin’s environmental leaders. David Buggs, Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, will moderate a panel including Dominique Bowman (Huston-Tillotson University), Dave Cortez (Sierra Club), and Marisa Perales (environmental attorney), as they discuss their experience as people of color practicing environmentalism and conservation in and outside of Austin. The panelists will also offer insight into how Austin’s predominantly white environmental movement can become more collaborative across race.

This “Shades of Green” Lunch & Learn is the first in a series of events designed to facilitate discussion and collaboration about diversity, equity, and inclusion in the environmental community in Austin. The next event in this series will take place at Huston-Tillotson University on October 14.

Lunch buffet is included. Doors open at 11:30am. Presentation begins at noon.

Ticket Sales end Tuesday, Aug. 4th. Register now!
