SH 45 SW Environmental Study Open House

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (Mobility Authority) are hosting an Open House on Tuesday, December 10th for the SH 45SW Environmental Study. Attendees will be able to learn more about the study, ask questions and submit official comments. We will be sharing specific options for mobility improvements that fulfill the purpose and need for the project as well as considerations for addressing potential environmental effects. No formal presentation will be given during the Open House. Attendees are invited to come and go at their convenience.

The Open House is part of the ongoing public involvement process for this study, which will analyze options for improving mobility between MoPac and FM 1626 in southern Travis and northern Hays counties. The study will consider environmental impacts, constraints, the needs of drivers, and concerns of surrounding neighbors. A final decision about whether or not to build the project is anticipated in 2015.
The purpose of SH 45SW is to: improve system connectivity; improve local mobility; provide an alternative route to congested local roadways; and improve travel times. The need for the project is to address traffic congestion and delays on the local roadway network.
