September 14, 2015 6pm – 8pm, September 15, 2015 6pm – 8pm
Help foster a brighter, healthier future for children in Central Texas by teaching youth to grow their own food through school gardens. At this 2-part training, we will teach you how to successfully start and sustain a school food garden. Topics include: the benefits of school gardens, creating a plan, organizing your garden team, implementing your project, and finding funding and resources. We won’t be covering basic gardening principles, but we can point you to a variety of related resources (including our Grow Local gardening classes). This training is for teachers, parents, and community members.
