SFC’s Growing Herbs Class

GET GROWING: GROWING HERBS

Fresh herbs are an essential element of seasonal and healthy cooking, and there’s nothing better than having your own herb garden for inspiration (not to mention it’s much cheaper to grow your own herbs than purchase them!). Join Grow Local and The Happy Kitchen in a two-part series all about herbs! In the GL “Growing Herbs” class, we will discuss how to grow your own herb garden, how to keep your herbs healthy year-round, and how to harvest herbs for use in the kitchen. In the THK “Cooking with Herbs” class, we’ll go into the kitchen and use the herbs to prepare a variety of seasonal dishes. We’ll also cover how to handle, store, and dry herbs for later use.

Grow Local gardening classes are all about learning solid gardening skills alongside local gardening experts. We want to build community, have fun, witness the magic in nature, make growing your own food easy, and be part of something bigger – your food system! Proceeds from our for-fee classes support free gardening classes and resources offered to individuals and families in need.

Course fee is $12.
