Garden-based education is a growing movement nationwide! Help foster a brighter, healthier future for children in Central Texas by integrating the school garden into classroom learning. At this 2-part training for teachers, parents, and community members, we will teach you how to use school garden through hands-on, engaging activities and TEKS-aligned lessons as well as classroom management best practices. This training will be co-led by peer facilitators with years of experience managing school gardens in the Austin Area. Participants will take home a lesson from our Grow Local School Garden Activity Guide.
*Trainings are for adults. Youth ages 12 and up may attend with close parent/guardian supervision during class.
*CEU credit hours provided through AISD
*Childcare available by request (request must be made up to 2 weeks before the event).
*Snacks will be provided.
*Registration closes three business days before class. All attendees must register to attend.
