Local Artists to Headline 3-day Music Event in honor of Earth Day
Buda, Texas
22-24 April 2016
Local bands and local entrepreneurs are calling on music fans of all ages to join the party, and help save the planet in the process, by showcasing a one-off gig at Tavern on Main. “Save the Earth Day Weekend,” begins this Friday, Earth Day, and runs through the weekend. The free event is the first of its kind and will feature a host of local artists, musician and brewmaster alike.
Fans can revel in a rare appearance by Uncle Lucius frontman Kevin Galloway, rock with Madra, featuring Rory Hancock, son of Texas songwriting legend Butch Hancock, and bid a Texas-sized farewell to Lew Card, as the beloved musician is set to make his final appearance in the Austin area. Popular local artists like Bukka Allen and Mayeux and Broussard round out the soundtrack; meanwhile, rock stars of the Texas craft brew scene will wash it all down. Fan-favorite breweries Real Ale, Pedernales, Oasis, Middleton, and Karbach Brewing Company are among those sponsoring the event, with free tastings offered throughout the weekend.
Buda restaurant/music venue The Tavern on Main and BioIntegrity.net have organized the showcase as part of Earth Day awareness, promoting local artists while promoting a worldly cause. “We know people everywhere care deeply about the future of our environment, and Tavern on Main is the perfect place to gather and celebrate that,” says founder of BioIntegrity.net, Chris Searles, “Tavern on Main serves-up some of the best food, music, and atmosphere in Texas.”
“Our goal this weekend is to relax, have a good time, and connect people to the solutions most impactful to turning the corner on today’s environmental challenges.”
The weekend also features a “mini-fest” of young talent. Up and coming bands will kick things off Saturday around noon, so parents are encouraged to bring the kiddos and get ready to rock in the name of Mama Earth. In between sets, music fans can cheer on their favorite athletes who are bringing the heat and some serious cuteness… The 19th Annual Buda Country Fair and Wiener Dog Races will be held the same weekend, just a short walk over to Buda City Park.

The event begins Friday, April 22 at 4pm and continues all weekend til 7pm Sunday. With plenty of free parking available, guests are encouraged to park in the neighborhoods surrounding Main Street. Music and beer tasting schedules can be seen on the Facebook page, “Save the Earth Day Weekend.”
BioIntegrity is a globally-minded company with Central Texas roots, working to protect and restore Earth’s most vital ecosystems. The young company has already achieved some tremendous successes; namely, helping to save an astonishing 8,500 plant and animal species and over 45,000 acres of Earth’s most climate-healing ecosystems. Attendees will have a chance to donate to a BioIntegrity promoted cause during the event. Meanwhile, Buda’s Tavern on Main has long since provided a loving home for local musicians, and as a socially responsible business itself, its match to BioIntegrity is one made in “green” heaven.
