Recess for Revolution is a free monthly community gathering that focuses on being civically engaged, participating in mutual aid, and gaining skills for resisting systems of oppression. At its core, these gatherings are about coalition building— where no single organization is the face. As we experience intensified political instability and catastrophic climate disasters, it’s vital that we build spaces for people (who are discovering their role in activism) to feel empowered to take action. In the words of Kelley Hayes, “Refuse to abandon vulnerable people. Build a rebellious culture of care.”
