We *heart* duckies in February.
Come have a local food and farming experience at Munkebo Farm just east of Austin in Webberville. Germaine Swenson, Munkebo's fearless farmer, will speak on ducks for eggs and meat. She will also prepare a fresh, delicious light meal of duck soup and salad with seasonal ingredients all from her farm! Munkebo has ducks and other types of poultry, including chickens, guinea fowl, geese and quail. Munkebo is also home to swine and cattle.
There is a charge of $8.59 for this meetup to cover the farmer's time and costs for the tour and homemade meal. All proceeds will go to Munkebo Farm. You can get a refund up to 3 days before the event, or if the event is canceled or rescheduled.

ABOUT MUNKEBO FARM
We adhere to Permaculture methods as closely as possible. We have permanent 4' rows that are heavily mulched to keep down weeds and prevent water loss. Prior to this we have our pigs till by rooting and over time they also deplete the weed seed bank. Our eventual goal is to be organically certified and have no imports; be a closed loop system. This means growing all our animals food needs on site. The only thing we may import would be seeds and these can be locally sourced. Compost tea, green manure and cultivating the soil/food web is how we are bringing fertility to the soil.
