The COVID-19 pandemic means that a lot of us are stuck at home (and cooking a lot more than we usually do). It also means that it’s now more important than ever to learn about our local food system and how we can work together to make it stronger, more sustainable, and more equitable.
That’s why The Austin Common has teamed up with the Sustainable Food Center to offer this special virtual cooking demo and chat. The Sustainable Food Center’s Molly Costigan will be taking the lead, teaching y’all about SFC’s new quarantine cooking series. Molly is the Director of The Happy Kitchen/La Cocina Alegre® program at SFC. She’ll lead a short recipe demo and offer tips for using fresh produce and pantry stables to build healthy meals at home. She’ll also talk about how you can support SFC’s important food access work for Central Texas.

We had originally planned on offering access to our Austin Common membership clubs for $120/ a year, but given the urgent need for this kind of digital community, we decided to make our membership fee voluntary for anyone who wants to join during these Stay Home, Work Safe restrictions.
However, if you are able to contribute financially, we would really appreciate it if you do. The reality is that like so many others, we have been severely impacted by COVID-19 and are struggling to survive.
