We’re thrilled to extend an exclusive invitation from Austin Public Health to dive into a groundbreaking initiative – the launch of the Austin/Travis County Medical Reserve Corps (ATCMRC)! Join us in ushering in a new era of community resilience and health empowerment.
What is an MRC?
The
Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) stands as a beacon of hope in times of crisis. It’s a nationwide network of dedicated volunteers who rally at the local level to fortify their communities against the unexpected. From natural disasters like wildfires and tornadoes to public health emergencies such as disease outbreaks, MRC volunteers are the frontline heroes who step up when it matters most.
The MRC isn’t just about reacting to emergencies. It’s about proactive community engagement and preparedness. Volunteers tirelessly work to enhance emergency response capabilities, mitigate public health risks, and foster community resiliency. They’re the driving force behind health fairs, vaccination clinics, and a myriad of other initiatives aimed at fortifying our collective well-being.
And now, the Austin/Travis County MRC is calling on all passionate individuals, aged 18 and above, to join us. Whether you’re a seasoned healthcare professional, a concerned citizen, or someone with a heart for service, there’s a place for you in the Medical Reserve ranks.
Mark your calendars for an event that promises to be both informative and inspiring! On April 3rd, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, we’ll be hosting a special gathering to introduce the ATCMRC to the community. It’s an opportunity to learn more about their mission, meet fellow volunteers, and discover how you can make a tangible difference in the lives of those around you.
