From Austin Energy Green Building –

Sustainability goes beyond high performance buildings – it’s about creating buildings and systems that nurture and support the well-being of the people that inhabit them. In order to achieve these goals, developers and designers seek to understand and respect the history and culture of the places where they build. This seminar will explore the Six Square district of Austin and examine best practices for working in a cultural district in a way that connects community and honors the past, present and future of the district.

Speakers
Nefertitti Jackmon, Executive Director, Six Square – Austin’s Black Cultural District
Donna D. Carter, FAIA, President, Carter Design Associates
