For over 10 years, the US Department of Defense and national security think tanks have been sounding the alarm about the threat to US national security posed by unchecked climate change and dependence on petroleum. Jim Penniman-Morin, a veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and a security fellow of the Truman National Security Project will lead a discussion on the national security threats as well as the steps that the US Department of Defense has taken to pioneer new energy technologies and shift its own energy consumption to cleaner and more distributed sources.
The Truman National Security Project unites veteran, frontline civilian, political, & policy leaders to develop & advance strong, smart & principled solutions to global challenges Americans face.
