Opening the Door to New Co-op Housing Opportunities

Do you want to live in a community rather than just a complex? Housing cooperatives could be for you! And new regulations in the City of Austin lay the foundation for a wider range of different cooperative housing options than ever before!
Local Housing Cooperative expert Ryan Nill, who has helped found of La Reunion Cooperative, Hardy House Co-op, and Asociación de Residentes North Lamar, will walk attendees through the new opportunities available for co-op housing, present models from around the country, and deliver practical tools to get started creating more cooperative housing right here in Central Texas.
The class will include:
- Models of ownership
- A 4-factor framework for developing housing cooperatives
- Overview of recent legal reforms that benefit co-ops
- Case studies from a couple of cooperative projects attempting to use those reforms
Class attendees will have the opportunity to schedule FREE coaching and consulting with the instructor and other co-op experts.
