This National Trails Day, we’ll be working in honor of the late Louis “Rene” Barrera, who managed Austin’s 22 nature preserves and dedicated 23 years of his career to the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department. Indiangrass was one of his favorite preserves and we’d love to celebrate his life and work by helping to restore this special Austin gem.
We will provide gloves, tools, and fresh water. Please bring your own water bottle and wear closed toed shoes. Dress for the weather and plan to get a little dirty!
We’ll meet at the corner of Blue Bluff and Bloor Road. For directions, enter the following GPS coordinates into Google Maps, and it will show you the way. 30.309017, -97.591936
