Sewage pollution in the Hill Country is getting worse. An upcoming SBCA report has found that 88% of all sewage treatment plants in the region have dumped more pollutants into streams than their permits allow. Still, developers continue to apply for new discharge permits.

Join us for a discussion with Brian Zabcik, the report’s author and SBCA’s Wastewater Campaign Coordinator. He’ll give a special preview of the report before it’s released. He’ll also explain how SBCA is working with other environmental groups to promote stricter sewage rules for the Hill Country.

Brian is the former Clean Water Advocate at Environment Texas, where he focused on promoting green infrastructure features like rain gardens and rain harvesting to stop runoff pollution.

He also helped write a GI resolution enacted by the Austin City Council and a GI bill passed by the Texas Legislature. Additionally, he authored a report on municipal stormwater policies in Texas and co-authored a report on bacteria pollution in the state’s waterways.

Join us for this enlightening presentation with Brian! You don’t want to miss it!
