Speakers

Sunshine Mathon, Design and Development Director, Foundation Communities

Sunshine Mathon directs the deep green design and construction of new multifamily properties for Foundation Communities, a robust, sustainably-focused nonprofit affordable housing developer in central Texas. Over the last eight years, Sunshine has lead the development of over 700 healthy, efficient homes including M Station, a 150-unit new construction community with one of the highest ever LEED for Homes ratings (25+ above LEED Platinum). Currently, he oversees the design of the Lakeline Learning Center, for which Foundation Communities is pursuing full Living Building Challenge certification. As a nationally-recognized leader in the deep green affordable housing sector, Sunshine routinely consults with a wide variety of local and national affordable housing agencies and developers. Sunshine holds a Masters in Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin.

Bungane Mehlomakulu, Design Principal, Integral Group

Bungane Mehlomakulu is a design principal working at the boundary between architecture, engineering, and sustainability to deliver a balanced, efficient, and meaningful services to customers and clients. Partnering with clients he helps identify high impact strategies that leverage sustainability to unlock value across all aspects of the buildings performance. His work focuses on accelerating the sustainable design business case throughout the industry through direct project involvement, organizational development and, community engagement. Bungane’s passion for sustainable buildings encompasses the entire building design and operation where approach to design helps clients develop opportunities that lie outside the scope of traditional MEP services.
