MLK Blvd Clean Up for MLK Day of Service | KAB

After our all volunteer kick off at JJ Seabrook park, volunteers signed up to pick up trash along MLk Blvd will split into teams and will make their way with their team leaders to clean uptheir allocated section of MLK Blvd. Because we expect numbers of volunteers to be larger than ever, we have been able to expand our clean-up efforts all the way from 183 to Chicon! AWESOME!
BIG THANK YOU to Keep Austin Beautiful for their donation of trash bags, trash picker-uppers, recycling bags and gloves!

On Saturday, January 18, 2014, Rep. Dawnna Dukes and United Way for Greater Austin in partnership with Keep Austin Beautiful invite you to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a Day of Service. This is the 15th year this project has been led by Rep. Dawnna Dukes. This year, we are excited to expand the MLK Blvd clean-up all the way to Chicon St. – and to host several indoor projects for those who may need to serve and sit! Give back to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy MLK Day of Service is an opportunity for individuals to take action that changes their communities. Individuals of every age and background celebrate Dr. King through service projects that strengthen communities, empower individuals, bridge barriers, and create solutions. We ask that all volunteers join us as we begin the day with an MLK Day of Service Kick-off, where volunteers will hear guest speakers, learn about the impact they’re making in the community, enjoy breakfast and meet other volunteers.
