Master Gardener Series

From TreeHouse –

Master Gardener Jean Graham will be in store to discuss the relationship between Art and Gardening – both locally and in the wider art world. It will inspire you as a gardener and broaden your awareness of gardening as an artistic practice. We will save some time for discussion and collaboration at the end of the presentation.

Jean Graham has an extensive career in the visual arts, as an exhibition and teaching artist and has works in several public collections. In Austin, she spent 10 years organizing & curating exhibitions at Austin Museum of Art (now The Contemporary), and 15 years managing public art projects for the City of Austin, many of which involved community engagement and education. Jean is also passionate about the interface of gardening and art in making places that enrich our social fabric and sustain our environment. After years of using clay as a sculptural medium, she is focusing on the earth as a growing medium – both for plants and for people. Jean has been a certified Master Gardener since 2016 and continues to garden with her co-conspirators “Black Gumbo” and “the Texas Death Star” (the sun!).
