Join curator Elise Powell and the 16 exhibiting artists as they weave and unravel a 24-hour immersive art event. The opening reception kicks off at 8pm Friday, August 25th with support from Hops and Grain brewery. Visitors to LOOM will come and go as they please during 24 consecutive hours of readings, music, projections and performance.
In traditions of pre-industrial handicraft, the makers and patrons of the work believed that each touch of a human hand enriched the final object with particles of cosmic power, human spirit, and divine energy. The Queens and Shahs of the past had divine incentive to commission artists to create elaborate robes, fantastic architecture, meticulous gardens and breathtaking tapestries. They believed these painstakingly crafted treasures brought them closer to the divine.
LOOM showcases a group of artists that see room for enrichment in our modern spaces. The selected works seek to weave the good karma of hand-crafted intricacy back into our culture.

room for empowerment
room for embellishment
room for enrichment
