It’s the beginning of the US Holiday Season and the perfect time to offset the zealous consumerism by celebrating the joy of helping those in need. This Day of the Dead…Do Something For the Living.
“For the Living”: A Clothes Drive For the People of Honduras
Casa de Luz cook Ada Cruz will depart Austin in November to return to Honduras. She knows many people who are in need of clothing and has asked for us to support her generosity in sending boxes of clothes to those in need. We invite you to join us in this beautiful project!
What: From now until November 1st, the Day of the Dead, we’ll be collecting gently used and new men’s, women’s, children’s clothes: pant’s, shorts, shirts, skirts, dresses, and tops.
Where: Please place garments in the the receptables that we’ll be placing underneath the bulletin board next to the restrooms on the area underneath the stairs to the Cielo Room. We’ll have a flier up and will accumulate the clothes until the last day of the Clothes Drive, after which they’ll be packed up and sent to Honduras. Any clothes not sent to Honduras will be donated to a local shelter.
Who: Any questions may be directed to Jinji Willingham at 512.350.8505
