The Austin Police Department will present information about automated license plate readers and listen to community feedback about the use of this technology.

In September 2022, Austin City Council passed a resolution directing the City Manager to re-evaluate the Austin Police Department’s former policy and procedure on license plate readers. As part of this effort, APD is hosting two community input sessions related to the policy.
