Austin Police Oversight is updating its Know Your Rights materials for 2026. We need your input to ensure the new materials are clear, accessible, and community-informed. Learn more about this initiative and ways you can participate!
Austin Police Oversight is hosting a series of small focus groups—both virtual and in-person—to hear directly from the community. Your input will help shape the next version of Austin’s Know Your Rights (KYR) materials, ensuring they reflect the lived experiences, needs, and voices of Austin’s diverse communities.

Who should participate?
Anyone interested in helping improve community-facing information about police interactions. No prior experience or expertise required.
What to expect
- 1.5–2 hour small-group conversations
- Judgment-free, community-centered space
- Confidential feedback used for research and program development
- Limited spots—register for one session only
