Who We Are:

The Juneteenth Committee was established by the Greater East Austin Youth Association (GEAYA), which consists of volunteers from Businesses and Nonprofit’s. As Community Leaders and Activists we are dedicated to the promotion, enhancement and continual growth of the Freedom Day (Juneteenth) Celebration.

Celebrate Juneteenth with a parade from 10am to noon. You can find the parade route here.

The parade will be followed by a festival from noon to 10pm at Rosewood & Boggy Creek Park. The festival will include live entertainment and fireworks.

  

Juneteenth, also known as “Freedom Day” or “Emancipation Day” commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas.
