Heart of Texas Green Expo

Keep Bastrop County Beautiful (KBCB) is pleased to announce that Dallas Morning News Columnist Howard Garrett ‘The Dirt Doctor’, has agreed to present a keynote address at The Heart of Texas Green Expo, June 8, 2012- 8am to 7pm and June 9- 8am to 5pm. KBCB Chair, Dorothy Skarnulis said, “Howard Garrett is a landscape architect who has authored 14 books on organic gardening and landscaping. He is a nationally syndicated radio talk show host on the Salem Radio Network, and the Chair of the Texas Organic Research Center. We are proud to bring Howard to Bastrop.”

According to Steve Bridges, Event Coordinator, “the Expo will feature over 50 speakers and exhibitors and many panels and workshops over a two day period. Friday, the first day of the event, will focus on issues for professionals such as city planners, architects and green builders. Friday evening we’re planning an outdoor concert featuring live music. Saturday will be a fun-filled atmosphere featuring more live music, lots of kids’ activities, and outdoor exhibits featuring alternative energy.”
